Most of us think we are eating a high fiber diet but really most of us are not getting enough fiber in our food. The recommended amount is 25-30g of fiber a day or even more! But the truth is we get 15g or less!

Why do we need fiber? Because human bodies are unable to digest/absorb fiber so it literally passes through our digestive system unabsorbed within the stomach, taking with it toxins, waste, fat and cholesterol particles out of the gut. In the process, it helps improve our heart health, makes us feel full, helps with digestion and detoxification, which are all essential for our health. Main benefits of fiber include:

  • Helps with digestion and elimination

  • Helps feel full so aids in weight loss

  • Helps heart health

  • Keeps the digestive tract healthy which is responsible for many diseases if not healthy

  • Helps manage blood sugar and prevent diabetes

Foods that contain high amounts of fiber:

  • Fruits

  • Vegetables

  • Lentils

  • Beans

  • Chia and Flax seeds

  • Grains like Quinoa

Enjoy these with every meal! Get your fiber every meal every day!!
